Why pay more for a Wolverine Diesel Hydraulic Power pack?
Compare lifetime costs for a 30HP PowerPak vs. a 25HP diesel PowerPak.
The power generated is approximately the same.
Fuel consumption:
30HP gas: 3.0 gallons / hr.
25HP diesel: 1.5 gallons / hr.
Engine life:
30HP gas: 1,000 hours on average until engine replacement
25HP diesel: 8,000 hours on average until engine replacement
Operating assumptions:
- Customer runs the power pack 2 hours per day on average – 500 hours per year
Annual fuel savings: (3 – 1.5) x 500 = 750 gallons x $3.00/gallon = $2,250/yr
Motor Wear: $2,500.00 cost to replace a gas motor = $2.50/operating hour = $1,250/yr (assume that the diesel motor will never be replaced).
Total Annualized savings: $3,500 per year for a diesel power-pack vs. a gas power-pack being run 500 hours per year.
Other benefits:
- Noise: The Kubota 3-cylinder diesel is much quieter than the 30HP gas engine;
- Emissions: Emissions should be much lower with the diesel, and with a catalytic converter it should be extremely clean.
Refuel Time: The diesel will run all day on one tank of fuel – no down time!! |
